Coltrane emerges afresh and I feel so instantly empowered when Psalm - the last part - is in the air. As Michael Cuscuna said in 1995, this four-part suite is simple in construction and rich in content, and its beauty and appeal are timeless. And I would add, it lifts spirits. |
