Workshop by Tim Garland

Tim Garland has been involved in music education for 20 years. Masterclasses and informal lively demonstrations have been a success not just in the UK but in many countries as Tim has had such an active international career.
The agenda is suited to the students present, with a continued aim to get them to play as an ensemble and try improvising. Daunting for some, this aim requires the workshop leader to create an atmosphere of non judgemental fun and exploration.

The focus can shift where appropriate to a masterclass situation where one person can get the chance to play alongside Tim and to receive valuable feedback.
Tim can also impart much useful information about the rigours of his experiences globetrotting with the likes of Chick Corea and how to establish good practise routines.
The closing stages of the workshop is often to play a big ensemble piece which is straightforward to learn, and to leave feeling empowered by the light hearted guidance of world class musicians.

This is an opportunity to have close contact with a Grammy Award winning orchestrator who has taught at conservetoire level for many years and Tim is available to teach one to one as well.
