約翰托馬斯三重奏是馬來西亞一隊獲獎無數的爵士組合。這個三人小組的成員包括著名的鼓手John Ashley Thomas，鋼子琴手Eric Lee李遠以及低音樂手赫萊什侯賽因。
約翰托馬斯 早在三歲已經開始打鼓，於十五歲時便踏上職業樂手的生涯。於2008年組成三重奏。
這組合以爵士樂的精神和架搆，與馬來西亞多種族多元化的節奏結合起來。三個樂手對彼此的音樂能力和方向有深厚的了解。他們以嶄新的作曲手法，和品味高雅的編曲技術，創造出真正的，獨特的Band sound。
托馬斯曾和音樂界中很多成名巨匠在世界各地有合作的機會。他曾和拉丁格林美獲獎長笛手 Nestor Torres、新加坡交響樂團及馬來西亞管弦樂團一起演奏。他也曾和 Motown 傳奇 The Three Degrees 於日本藍調會所作巡迴演奏，並在韓國、南非、泰國、濱城、印度、新加坡的爵士節中大放異釆。
托馬斯剛剛和張惠妹完成了一輪全球性的巡迴演奏，亦曾和韓國爵士天后羅玧宣一起演出。最近更獲馬來西亞當局頒發了《最佳年輕音樂家》的獎狀。在2009年10月，托馬斯 在 Jarasum 國際爵士比賽中贏得了《特別評判之選》的殊榮。現時三重奏正在灌錄他們的首張唱片在今年內推出。
John Ashley Thomas started drumming at the age of 3 and played his first professional gig at the age of 15.
The trio combines the three musicians’ collective passion for jazz with Malaysian rhythms and harmonies. With an innate understanding of each other’s musical abilities and chosen musical direction, the trio’s inventive compositions and imaginative arrangements creates a truly unique sound.
John has collaborated with many established names in the music industry and has travelled around the world to perform. He has performed with Latin Grammy award-winning flautist Nestor Torres alongside the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, toured the Blue Note circuit in Japan with Motown legend The Three Degrees, and played at the Arts and Jazz Festivals in Korea, South Africa, Thailand, Taiwan, Penang , India, and Singapore.
John recently completed a world tour with Taiwanese singing sensation A Mei and a jazz festival performance with Nah Youn Sun. He has recently won the award for the ‘Best Young Musician in Malaysia’, an award bestowed upon him by Ministry of Information Communication and Culture Arts.
